So far, the survey has been conducted seven times, between 1979 and 1999 by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) in cooperation with the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) and since 2006 in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA).    The computer assisted telephone interview (CATI) survey focuses on questions related to the workplace (areas of activity, work requirements, workloads, etc.) as well as stress and health impairments. Moreover, information concerning the relationship between education and further training and employment in a broader sense was gathered.
